Blogs and Environment

Our environment is one of the reasons why we are living in this world. It is where we get our basic needs, including food, water, and shelter. That is why it is important to take good care of our environment, because if we take good care of it, it will also return those deeds in a good way. Using blogs as an instrument to encourage other people to take care of the environment is a great way to help as students and as individuals. Let us remember that the smallest efforts can do big help to the environment.

Cleaning our environment is one of the easiest ways we students can contribute to the protection and care of the environment.

By planting trees, we can reduce the effects of natural disasters, such as windstorms, floods, earthquakes, and landslides.

Taking care of our trees, such as watering them, is a big help because it can improve the air quality in the environment.

Taking walks every day is a great help for the environment because it reduces air pollution by avoiding using transportations such as motorcycles, tricycles, and cars.

Success Through Learnings

During the first quarter, I have learned and discovered so many things in the subject of information and communications technology (ICT), particularly the topic of the internet. First, I have learned about the history of the internet, and I discovered its evolution before it was called the "internet." Secondly, I also found out about the parts of a web browser, as well as the parts of a URL, including the protocol, domain name, directory path, object name, and spot name. Next, I also got to know about the internet pioneers and architects who helped in the development of the internet. Then, I also discovered that there are various types of blogs, and they have different purposes. Initially, I also learned how to create my own blog account and I also got to write blog posts. Lastly, I learned to become more independent because of doing self-studying.

Studying the internet is quite fun, but there are instances where I encountered problems and challenges. One of which is the difficulty of memorizing the important dates, especially the timeline of the internet. Second, I found it challenging to be experiencing another method of studying, such as self-studying. Lastly, I was also challenged regarding the making of blog posts because of the time limit it takes to write a post. It gave me pressure because of the challenge of maintaining my blog posts clear and concise.

In studying, it is common to encounter problems and challenges. But even so, there are still ways on how to resolve these by addressing them properly. Firstly, I learned to focus to make it easier to study. Then, I also took down notes and organized the information to make it easier to memorize. Lastly, I created a schedule to manage my time properly.

After all the learnings and discoveries, problems and challenges encountered, and addressing these problems, I decided to move forward and do better in studying. I will improve all my weaknesses, and I will also improve my writing ability to make my blog posts clearer and easier to understand. I will also continue to manage my time by creating a schedule so that it is more organized and easier to work. After that, I will try to impart the information I have learned to the younger generation. Lastly, I will do my very best to achieve my dreams.

Solution for Poverty

Vigan City, Ilocos Sur
Philippines
August 29, 2024

FERDINAND ROMUALDEZ MARCOS JR.
President of the Philippines
Malacaรฑang Palace, Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines
Sir:

May the Lord bless, guide, and give you peace at all times.

The issue of ongoing poverty is deeply concerning because it affects everybody, and in this way it repeats over and over like a cycle. Self-rated poverty in the Philippines, as reflected by the Tugon ng Masa survey from 11 to 14 March 2024, is at 42 percent. Almost half of the population in the Philippines experiences poverty. Additionally, the citizens are also struggling to be able to make ends meet with the increasing inflation rate in the Philippines.

With this regard, I would like to propose a request about the treatment of poverty in the Philippines. I would like you to provide assistance, such as giving labor to the people, especially the ones who are living in the mountainous areas, and increasing the minimum wage of the citizens in the Philippines. With this proposal, I am sure that we can reduce the poverty rate in the Philippines.

I hope that you will consider this request.

I sincerely appreciate your attention. I hope that you have a peaceful day.

Sincerely yours,

ATHEA MAE Q. PARAYNO
Student of Ilocos Sur National High School

Heroes of the Nation

In my point of view, not only are teachers crucial in education, but they are also one of the central figures in the lives of students. I said so because they serve as the students' second parents in school. They also mold and help improve children's abilities. Moreover, they are part of the success of children striving to have a better life. With that being said, they have contributed many things that they are considered to have an influence on shaping the nation's future.

Teachers have always been part of children's lives. Teachers pour knowledge into children and motivate them to follow their dreams. They also teach students the value of life and the importance of education in shaping their future. With this, they are known as the heroes of the nation because they help in shaping society's future by training and educating children that would someday serve the country. Teachers do not only make sure that a child learns resilience, but they also act as second parents to the children, helping them polish their talents and abilities.

To summarize, teachers served their best to educate, inspire, and shape children. Just like us, they also started training to serve the nation through education. The least we can do as their students is to appreciate their hard work and dedication. Let us all give thanks to all the educators who have helped to shape the nation's future. Let's not only do it during the teachers' month celebration, but let's do it every time we see them. Just saying good morning and good afternoon to them is a very important gesture to brighten up their day.

The Philippines' Journey Towards Resilience

The Philippines is a tropical island near the equator, with extreme heat and humidity. Additionally, it is also directly located on the Northwestern Pacific Ocean, and this accounts for an average of 20 typhoons every year, six to nine of which landfall within the Philippines. Moreover, it lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is a tectonic belt of earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain ranges. Geographically, the Philippines is located in such a way that natural calamities that are generally very hard to fight develop and cause huge destruction to the country. Furthermore, poverty in the Philippines increases vulnerability to disasters.

Over the past years, the Philippine government has been able to craft many programs that can counter its vulnerability to disasters and help make it resilient enough to bounce back into action at the emergence of disasters. One of which is the construction of facilities such as flood control systems and more evacuation centers. Aside from that, they also developed and implemented social safety nets in order to help those affected by the impact of the disaster and prevent additional poverty from occurring. What's more, they also established the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework (PDRRMF) that is meant to facilitate disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. On that note, they also implemented the Community-Based Disaster Risk Management Framework (CBDRMF), which aims to foster unity and solidarity, which increases the preparedness and resiliency of the Philippines.

In conclusion, despite the Philippines being prone to disasters, there are still ways the citizens of the country adopt activities that contribute to improving resilience. But, in spite of all these responses, the Philippines has yet problems when it comes to seeking resilience. These include the lack of financial funds, which cripple the Philippines from becoming resilient. The lack of public awareness also hampers the country's resiliency in facing disaster. In short, the Philippines' journey towards resilience is still a continuous process because it needs more effort and attention to address its vulnerability to disasters.

A Book

By definition, a book is an instrument used to get knowledge and information about certain topics. It can also be referred to as something that gives entertainment and pleasure by sharing different stories. It can contain multiple chapters with many pages. Furthermore, a book can also be used to get life lessons that we can apply in our everyday lives. It is an important tool for us to improve ourselves to be a better person.

As I wrote in the first paragraph, a book can contain multiple chapters. I can say that a book is what best describes me because, just like a book, my life also has its different chapters with different stories. Just like a book, my life also has its beginning and ending. And just like a book, I also have several problems and conflicts. But, just like in a book, I find ways to solve and fight those problems to make my life better.

In conclusion, my life is like a book. I have my problems, but I find ways to overcome them. I will be stronger, just like the protagonist in a book, to fight what life has to offer. And I will also stay positive to make life easier. With this, I can improve myself.
